The MicroScribe® portable CMM is used as a point-to-point, edge-to-edge data collection tool or as an alignment tracker for attached laser scanners or other types of sensing devices. Which MicroScribe Arm is Best for You?
This desktop system comes in two versions, the higher accuracy MicroScribe M series and the general purpose MicroScribe G series. Each series of arm offers two working volumes, 50” and 66” and comes with either five (5) or six (6) degrees of freedom. The six degree of freedom (6DoF) systems add a rotating stylus appropriate for the attachment of the Skiron laser and other scanners, ultrasound transducers, and other sensing devices.
MicroScribe M portable CMM systems supply a new, more cost-effective alternative for manufactured parts inspection, concept-to-product engineering and high-accuracy 3D digitizing. Constructed from high quality components like aircraft aluminum housings, lightweight graphite links and state-of-the-art electronics, the counterbalanced mechanical arm is equipped with precision bearings for smooth, effortless manipulation.
Each joint uses digital optical sensors, which are immune from any environmental noise and interference. It all makes for a versatile system that can work in most any environment and be used with solid objects of most any material.
Compatible with Most Software Solutions
In addition to working well with Revware’s own RevWorks® software, the MicroScribe system is completely compatible with over 50 software solutions available today. To best take advantage of your MicroScribe system, use Revware’s own RevWorks software or one of many software drivers that link MicroScribe digitizing capabilities to existing third-party software applications.
Three levels of integration available:
- Direct Support – No additional software is needed other than the host application
- Plug-in Support – An additional piece of software provides MicroScribe capability in the host application
- MicroScribe Utility Software (MUS) Support – MUS, enables 2D or 3D data from the MicroScribe to be sent to the host application
